Why do people live here?

River Oaks is conveniently located in Covington off of Hwy. 190 near the border of Mandeville. It is only minutes from the Causeway bridge, making it a perfect choice for commuters to New Orleans. The neighborhood is also a great choice for anyone who loves spending time outside; residents enjoy access to a clubhouse, neighborhood pool, and tennis facilities, all under the shade of beautiful stands of oak and pine trees.

What’s the neighborhood like?

River Oaks is home to just over 275 families and is a “Restricted Covenants Subdivision”. The homes that you would expect to find for sale in River Oaks Subdivision generally range between 2500 and 4000 square feet of living space. Most of the homes were built in the 90’s, but some newer homes have been constructed over the last decade. The two most popular architectural styles of homes built in the neighborhood are the traditional and French country styles. Many homes offer granite in the kitchen and bath, as well as walls of windows for plenty of natural light. Homes in the neighborhood usually have between 4 and 5 bedrooms, and most include 3 or 4 full baths to complete the master and guest suites. It’s not uncommon to find homes with an extra office or playroom as well. Many have oversized backyards and screened or covered patios, and some even boast a private pool or hot tub!
